Hey everyone. I'm really upset and thought you might know what to do. For about six months, my computer would freeze for a few seconds to a couple of minutes every now and then. I've tried several things: blowing air over it, replacing the thermal paste, running memory tests, formatting from scratch, switching the OS to a different NVMe and formatting again, updating drivers, and even using ADATA's toolbox on the NVMe. It feels like I'm stuck. My specs are: Aorus X570 Ultra 4x8 3600MHz, Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO AMD 3900X with a Corsair A500 cooler, Corsair RM850X 3090 FE, ADATA SX8200 1TB with other drives. All heavy games are on the OS drive BIOS version F37A (Userbenchmark link). PassMark is up. I don't have any other ideas.
It was worth a shot. But those memory hardfaults that spike are tricky. Have you tried using one memory stick at a time to see if it triggers the issue? If so, switch to another stick and try again. Setting the RAM speed to 3000 is often recommended for AMD systems. Test each stick individually, then reset the RAM speed once all are installed. Also, verify if the memory sticks appear in the mainboard's QVL list. Did you purchase two 2DIMM modules or a single 4DIMM set?
I attempted to remove the stick and inspect each one individually. It seems like an NVME problem. I plan to set the RAM to 3k, but it's been running at 3600 for more than three years—this is why I have four dimms.
You mentioned the OS is already installed on another NVMe device, so unless both are damaged it shouldn't be this issue. Try testing each chip individually. If the problem persists across all four drives, the issue likely lies elsewhere.
It was the CPU that failed today. It stopped working and couldn<|pad|> to send data. Sad for the 3900x. Got a 5600 from a friend and verified it. I’ll send a return label. It seems the slowdown was the CPU failing.
