I recently purchased a new CPU and mounted it onto my motherboard (adjusted the thermal paste and other settings). When I attempt to boot my PC, it produces a persistent interrupted beeping noise. After some investigation, I suspect the problem might lie with the RAM, even though it functions correctly after reinstalling the previous CPU. Current setup: Intel Xeon E3 1220 → Intel i7 3770 → Fujitsu d2990 A11 GS 5 → 4GB DDR3 1600.
It seems unclear which type of motherboard this belongs to. If it's a typical consumer model, the BIOS might not be compatible with the Xeon processor, which is also an older generation.

The E3 1220 resembles Sandy Bridge, whereas the 3770 corresponds to Ivy Bridge. It seems your motherboard might require a BIOS upgrade to accommodate the 3770, or it may not function properly otherwise.
