I currently have an issue with my Oculus Quest 2 and my front USB-C port. When I plug my USB-C cable into the port one way, it gets recognized as a USB 2.0 but if I flip it and plug it in, it shows as a USB 3.0. This doesn't occur when I plug it into my rear IO (even when I flip it). I can also confirm that I didn't have this issue with another device. So I don't think its the cable. I believe that its either the case port, the cable between the case and the motherboard or the motherboard port. Since this is a newly built system, I still have warranty but I need to be able to pinpoint which part of the system this issue is coming from. Unfortunately I do not have another case with a USB-C port for me to test my motherboard. Does anyone have any means for me to pinpoint the source of this?
Use compressed air to clean the area and wipe the USB-C port with a toothpick to remove dust. Sometimes debris collects in small ports, which can block connections. Ensure the connector is securely seated on the board. Ask the case vendor if this happens often and verify the warranty status of your device.
