When I power on my PC, it remains stuck in a black screen with no display and the cable isn't recognized on the monitor. If I turn it on and connect the monitor (which has an HDMI to DP conversion, as the graphics card only has one DP output), the PC starts working normally. The system specs include an Intel i3 10100, ASRock B460 M HDD, Radeon Instinct MI8, Kingston A2000 250 GB NVMe SSD, and it runs Windows 10 Pro version 21H2. Graphics drivers are current with R9 nano, and Mobo drivers are also up to date.
agreed...this seems like a signal or cable problem. previously i dealt with a similar situation using an adapter, so fixing the connector differences resolved it until it stopped working. shaking the adapter fixed it again. interestingly, when i used the manual on off button for my monitor, it functioned perfectly. however, once i found a suitable cable from DP to HDMI, the issue disappeared. the main concern was the price—my purchased cable was significantly more expensive than the adapter option. not sure if the person asking is talking about an adapter or a single DP to HDMI cable.
I used a DP cable connecting the HDMI to the monitor, but nothing changed. With the older monitor, it worked fine, but now I'm worried about the new one—especially since I need to make sure the monitor is off before starting the PC.
