Hello! Good morning to everyone. My computer starts up automatically when I plug it in, with lights and fans turning on, but it still needs me to press the power button to boot. When I removed it from its case, the same issue occurred. I’m unsure if the PSU or the motherboard is the problem. I’d appreciate your advice—would replacing either be a good solution? Also, I don’t have anyone nearby to help with further testing. Thanks!
It's challenging to give an accurate diagnosis without understanding your system's components. Possible reasons include power supply issues, motherboard problems, and incorrect wiring on the front panel. Was this a brand-new build? Did the problem appear immediately or gradually over time? This has been my computer for over three years. It really surprises me when I touch it even though it's off—plugged into the wall with the power supply active. Recently, whenever I connect it to the wall, the lights flicker and the fans behave strangely, moving and stopping until I power it up again. When I turn it off completely, it seems to think I didn’t shut it down at all; the lights stay on, the fans speed up, and the case continues to buzz. Apologies for the delayed update—I've been really busy. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450M, Mortar Max, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, Zotac RTX 3070 Twin Edge OC, 550W, 80+ Bronze, Full Modular.
