I come from the Philippines and am currently in computer science. This is my first PC, which my mom bought for me. We don’t have much money, so I’m really thankful she got me this one before the midterm. Suddenly it stopped working after turning on briefly. I checked the BIOS and noticed the +5V drops to red before shutting off. I thought maybe a PSU problem, but since it’s a generic PSU, I went to a local repair shop. They replaced the PSU and motherboard, but the fans in the PSU spun when it turned on. The technician said it was likely the BIOS chip issue and that fixing it would cost around 3,000 pesos or more. I tried another shop, which suggested using a different PSU and a multimeter test. They confirmed the PSU was bad and replaced it with one from a store online—an Acer AC 550 for about 800 pesos. It took a week to arrive. After installation, the PC restarted and kept turning on and off. I almost gave up because I thought I’d wasted money. My thesis code is still pending, but I have some time before I need it. I’m wondering if you could lend me a working PC to code with, since my SSD works fine. The only thing missing was the motherboard—maybe it’s broken. My specs are an i5-12400, ASUS Prime H610M-D D4, GTX 1630, and two 500GB SSDs (still okay). Two 500GB HDDs also work. The PSU is a Bosston model, 600W original, and the AC 550 replacement is in stock. I’m hoping you can help me out before I start my project.

I really liked that old DD3 board with the CPU and RAM still inside. I attempted to plug in the PSU without taking it out of the case, but the CPU fan started spinning and the case fans also turned on. It didn’t power up after a few minutes. When I touched my case, I felt a shock—maybe that’s the problem.
