It doesn't make sense for a game to be available on Steam yet need tools like uPlay to start playing.

I totally get it, the situation is frustrating. Steam has some DRM, but it’s pretty simple, and I actually enjoy using the client. Having multiple DRM layers or switching between clients really annoys me, which is why I usually go for Ubisoft titles.

I understand you're saying it's entirely useless.

Notably during Uplay failures and Steam freezing while playing, requiring a full PC restart just to exit the game.

I think that's the right way, though Ubisoft and EA are still a bit annoying...

I’d have to agree too. I get that companies using their own clients instead of Steam means fewer worries and more control. (More Control) It would be nice if they offered you a choice—like logging in through your own platform (e.g., Uplay) or Steam.

It feels a bit overly cutthroat. Imagine a place like Gamestop that wouldn’t sell games with DRM.

This really bothers me a lot! Pressing play on Steam and starting the game feels frustrating at first. Seeing it for the first time made me think, "What the hell?"

I'm not sure what they're talking about. Play allows you to avoid purchasing Ubisoft titles!
