I'm dealing with an HP laptop using Windows 11. My customer reported a problem where the screen goes black immediately after entering their pin. They mentioned no visible content, only hearing the mouse clicks if they move around the screen. It seems like a UAC popup might be involved. The update history shows no recent updates since April 26, 2024.

I'm trying to figure out what could have caused this issue, especially whether Windows loads the graphics driver before or after login. I haven't considered if a basic driver runs first before any hidden drivers are used.

This machine uses UHD graphics instead of discreet ones, which might be related, but the question remains.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Find your laptop's model and SKU. If you can display the screen until you reach the login screen, consider restarting the laptop while holding the Shift key. This may help you enter Safe Mode and check for any display after logging in.

Hey thanks! Actually, I've not seen the problem. But my customer claims there is video until AFTER the login screen - once you've entered the PIN.
