I'm checking whether increasing core count or boosting clock speed is more important for gaming right now. I usually opt for top-tier graphics cards and am unsure about the best CPU features to consider.

Check the standards for the programs you're interested in and focus on what matters most. I find it helpful to have a bit more processing power for smoother multitasking. That’s why CPUs like the Ryzen 5 3600 seem really appealing to me.

enhancing the performance involves IPC (instructions per clock). Intel boasts a faster clock speed, but AMD offers better IPC, which means current-gen AMD chips now match Intel in gaming tasks. Focus on this instead of just clock speed—third-gen Ryzen delivers similar gaming performance to Intel at a lower cost, providing excellent value.

I reviewed performance benchmarks for the games I play, and in most situations Intel outperforms by roughly 2 to 5 frames. Since I don’t have a preference toward either brand, I’m aiming for the best possible setup. Some friends who recommended AMD highlighted backward compatibility, but if I upgrade my CPU, I’ll also upgrade the motherboard accordingly.

AMD is now keeping up. If I intended to stream, I’d have chosen the Ryzen processor. However, for gaming, Intel usually performs better, though it’s around 2-5 frames slower.

I generally consider the context of these two to five frames before deciding. The difference between 120 and 125 fps isn’t huge compared to 30 versus 35 fps. While Intel may be slightly quicker on a single core, the extra threads might matter depending on your needs. I encourage everyone to investigate personally to find the best fit for their situation.

I could cut 5 frames to ensure smooth streaming. The Ryzen 7 3700X offers top gaming and streaming performance, rivaling an i9 9900K. It’s a solid choice if your budget allows. What are your expected game performance goals?

Sure, I’ll keep it simple. I’m planning to dig deeper into opinions. To give you a better idea, I’m playing Witcher 3, R6S, Overwatch, Diablo, and I’m hoping for Cyberpunk 2077 soon.

I won’t be streaming. My goal is to reach more than 120 fps in multiplayer and above 60 in single-player, especially when boosting graphics for SP.
