Determine the appropriate CPU voltage setting for the MSI board (x470 gaming pro).
Hey guys!
I'm checking out an MSI x470 Gaming Pro with a Ryzen 5 2600x. What voltage should I use on the 2600x to achieve 4.1-2Ghz performance? Also, I'm looking into whether the Cooler Master Gammaxx 400 cooler is suitable for overclocking my CPU.
Thanks for any tips!
Well..
There are two methods you can use. The unusual but fast/slightly risky approach is; adjust the voltage to 1.35 and gradually reduce it by about .02 until the system becomes unstable (crashes or bluescreen), then raise it back by .02. Or, keep everything stable, slightly increase the clock speed when instability appears, boost voltage by .02-.03 and then further increase the clock until instability occurs, repeating this process until you achieve the desired result. It isn't wise to exceed 1.35v for a continuously running clock.

It’s not advisable to exceed 1.35v for a continuously running clock.
Do you have any details about the Ryzen 5 2600x? If I want to overclock it to 4.1 GHz, what voltage would be needed?
It seems the voltage mentioned is around 1.3v for a 4.0GHZ processor, and this video could provide useful guidance for those needing overclocking on Ryzen systems.
