Received a vital Ballistix memory kit (2x16GB) at 3600Mhz CL16. Can you determine whether it’s single or dual rank without installing anything? This is for a fresh build and I haven’t gathered all components yet. Do you think checking the chip layout on both sides could indicate the rank, even though it seems outdated? The serial number on the back is BL16G36C16U4B.M8FB1.

They recently sent me an update. The kits are available in both single and dual options, and I received the single-rank edition.

I planned to return them and attempt a dual-rank pair, but it seems all current stock is now single-rank. I checked the Tridents though—they’d conflict with my CPU cooler and cost roughly £40 extra.

Hey everyone! I just got a single stick RAM (Ballistix 16GB, 3600MHz, model BL16G36C16U4B) and I'm wondering if anyone knows if buying the identical model will let me use dual-channel? My motherboard is a B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI, and my RAM matches yours in specs.
