Details on appdata temp folder in Windows 10
In my c:users/my user name/appdata/temp directory I have 1.58gb of space, which isn’t a big deal except on an SSD where every bit counts. Would it be possible to remove this folder? I understand the safe way to clear the Windows temp folder with Disk Cleanup, but I’m unsure about this appdata/temp location since it contains various .dat files and more than just temporary files. Clearing it would be risky just to free up that space.
The appdata directory holds crucial files such as Minecraft data. Clearing it can help improve performance.
The temp folder remains unchanged unless the software is poorly designed.
Be mindful of the appdata area overall, yet files in the %temp% directory are safe to discard, and should be cleared often. If they accumulate, handle them yourself or use a suitable utility.
