Windows 11 Home ver 22H2
Some of the .mp4 files on my computer were moved from an older Win7 version. For those files, the "Owner" label under 'Properties/Details' appears as S-1-5-21-374. A few have been updated to show me as the owner, but most still list the original owner. Is that unique string of numbers the old system’s ID? Why did some details change while others stayed the same? And is there a free way to modify the metadata or properties of these files?

These figures represent the Security Identifiers. Using this specific pattern as a domain identifier aids in grasping registry details. It's important to avoid interacting with the registry and making changes, as doing so may lead to problems. Another reason for updating SIDs is to prevent hacking attempts. According to forum guidelines, we cannot assist with that. The discussion will be closed.
