No, Battlenet wasn't renamed to Blizzard App or any similar name. It remains known as Battlenet.

Someone above mentioned that Blizzard controls Activision, which is behind D2. This isn’t too surprising because Steam is a major distribution channel, yet D2 is already fairly recognized. So if buyers are interested, they won’t need extra reminders about its existence through Steam. I’m not sure how to express it clearly.

It makes sense if Activision or Blizzard avoids engaging with Steam's profit-sharing model. Honestly, I'm getting more interested in Destiny 2 right now—it would really enhance my Battle.net collection. Plus, I think shifting the game to Battle.net shouldn't hurt anything, especially since it's already benefited a lot after Overwatch launched.

It doesn’t seem unusual at all. They likely expect to earn even more by not sharing profits. That looks like a clever strategy. I’m fine with it too—I can now purchase the game using WowGold.
