Hey everyone. I'm really confused about what's going on with my system. Last night it just stopped because the CPU overheated for the first time. After a quick fix, I thought the pump was dead and got a replacement. But once it was installed, I opened the BIOS and saw the temperature jump to around 45°C right away, then quickly hit 90°C and had to shut it down again. I'm not sure what's causing this if anyone has any tips. My setup is an Intel i9-12900k with MSI MPG Z690, Edge WiFi, CoreLiquid 360r V2.

May indicate an issue with the CPU verification and DMA functionality.

If the swap worked well and it launches strong from the beginning, I’d think the mounting pressure isn’t ideal. Even though the V2 version of this AIO is often linked to early failures, I was curious about it and discovered this information.

It looks like either the CPU is problematic, or you experienced a bad AIO followed by a dead-install AIO. That seems unlikely. Another possibility is a failed motherboard header. Do you have the ability to choose between driving an AIO or a fan? If so, was the fan setting changed to a pump instead?

I recently installed a new AIO but the problem persists. I’m unsure if there’s an option to choose between AIO and fan, but I never selected it and never experienced an issue until suddenly. Upgrading to a new motherboard would be a hassle—still thinking this might be the main cause. Pressure readings look normal, but heat performance hasn’t improved. Also, the replacement unit is running at the same temps, which worries me.
