Looking into options to generate a Windows (7/8.1) image with all updates and installed software, excluding drivers. I aim to eliminate repetitive tasks like automatic updates, installs, and tweaks. Updates alone can take hours; I’m exploring WSUS Offline Update to possibly reduce download times, though installation delays remain. I rely on Ninite for fast app installs, though it doesn’t cover everything. I’m considering a flat-rate Windows install with software and data recovery to boost productivity, which should raise my hourly earnings and shorten turnaround. On OS X, a clone using tools like SuperDuper would take roughly 45 minutes—mechanical drives are slower, SSDs are quicker. It’s a simple process for me. I should note my Server 2012 R2 build is nearly complete.
