Choose something verified to function. If it performs reliably, it’s safer despite the unusual Xeon and lack of testing.
Usually, if it isn<|pad|>, it won't function properly. This applies especially to IBM and HP setups, and sometimes to Dell as well. The official guides don't always mention it: https://i.dell.com/sites/csdocuments/Sha...-guide.pdf (page 12). If your device supports the pin and wattage, trying it shouldn't cause serious issues. The most likely outcome is a POST refusal. I experienced this with an older Precision T3600 model where the chipset didn't recognize the Xeon, causing it to refuse POST.
