I've been attempting to install Linux on my old Pentium 4, but it won't boot from the CD. I've searched for solutions and found that Dell has a hardware restriction on the system. What options do I have? I've checked all the suggestions in this thread on the Ubuntu forums. The system now has 2GB of RAM, which means Windows XP is performing better—maybe that's a good starting point if I can't get Linux working.
