Sure, I’ll probably choose the installer. I had a brief chat with my lawyer who thinks there’s a gray zone, which might put me in some trouble, particularly if I begin earning from it.

Consider using a Linux branch for testing. Automatically run any Windows apps via Wine.

Absolutely, to profit from it you must avoid a regular Windows setup. Only by using an OEM and building a tailored Windows embedded installer can you achieve that.

If MS approves, proceed accordingly... otherwise, it resembles piracy. Additionally, if the goal is merely to enhance functionality, providing a complete software package may be preferable to offering a modified operating system.

I'm exploring Linux options, but previous attempts with Wine on Windows caused many problems even after adjustments. Making it work for Windows seems like the most reliable choice.
