Delay in every match and I have no idea why
I sent my PC to university to keep playing games. It arrived and started up properly. When I opened CS, it showed severe lag, reaching the teens on my AMD 7800 card. I upgraded my graphics card because I needed one anyway and got a Nvidia GTX 1070. Still, lag persisted at around 30 frames per second (most games dropped significantly). After checking again, no major problems were found. My friend who works for a tech firm advised me to replace the hard drive. The new one came, but frame drops remained high. I ran a Steam VR test and scored 9.5/10—everything else tested normal. My CPU is an Intel i5. I switched to a 60Hz monitor instead of the expensive 1080/120Hz model, which saved money. Everything seems fine now except for the persistent lag. I don’t see viruses or malware, and RAM appears undamaged. The GPU is connected, uses Intel, and the new drive works. I’m not sure if the motherboard is the issue, but there’s still a small chance. It hasn’t blue-screened or crashed yet. Could it be the power supply unit? If so, how can I test it since that’s the last thing I checked? Any tips to help identify the problem? I think it might not be internet speed, as ping is low and lag stays the same online. Please let me know if you have more details.
with a 120hz monitor and VSync enabled at 120hz, performance may drop or become choppy if the display doesn't meet the required refresh rate.
All drivers were set up and the AMD drivers were removed, while the RAM functioned properly during the memory test.
Suggest setting up a monitoring system and testing a tough game to identify any problems.
No, I didn't use DDU for removing drivers. You can find instructions from guru3d.
