To preserve any window position, click the Windows title bar to verify the active window and press the hotkey Ctrl+Alt+Z. A tooltip will indicate the position has been saved. This method may not function on Windows 7 but could work on newer versions like 10. Alternatively, a third-party tool such as AutoHotKey or AutoSizer might achieve the same result.
