Last year I purchased FarCry 3 during the summer discount, but I wasn’t particularly pleased with it. I’d already seen a full walkthrough, which might have contributed to my disappointment, or perhaps it was the numerous positive reviews that influenced my decision. Now, with FarCry 4 on sale, I’m wondering if I should buy it for 29,99€. A bit about myself: I’m curious about what kinds of games interest me. I tend to find humorless titles unengaging—I don’t laugh at them. I watched a Saints Row 4 walkthrough until the end without any laughter through all 30 episodes. As someone who enjoys completionist challenges, I sometimes dislike games that feel rushed or lack polish, even if I can’t stop myself from playing. I have mixed feelings about open-world experiences; I wouldn’t want to give up Skyrim for fear of losing my enjoyment of the series. I usually don’t find fun in typical GTA activities like heists, online chaos, or carefree play—just feels pointless to me. So, should I buy it?

I wouldn't purchase it either, as it closely mirrors Far Cry 3 in nearly all aspects you might consider.

It's £14 on G2A. It looks way too much like Farcry 3 imo; which isn't a bad thing because Farcry 3 is AMAZING! Well worth £3

It's similar to the upgraded DC3 version, which you can refer to as FC 3.5. Honestly, I prefer it over 3, and I enjoyed the 3 quite a bit. Check out a few reviews instead of a walkthrough and make your own decision. Plus, the price is 29,99€—definitely cheaper during past sales.

I purchased FarCry 4 and went through FC2 and FC3. 4 stands out as my top pick among Far Cry titles, ranking high in my favorites. I’d definitely suggest it.

Far Cry 4 is essentially a refreshed version of Far Cry 3, featuring a more appealing environment, enhanced visuals, and intriguing wildlife. If you disliked turning off alarms and the violent aftermath in Far Cry 3, you're unlikely to enjoy this update.

The Shangrila locations truly distinguish FC4 for me. The visuals are stunning there.

This game is one of my top picks! I dedicated 110 hours searching every rock as you suggested. I made several trips to sherpa shops to sell my full collection. The gameplay feels slower, but I still enjoy looting and have plenty of money, weapons, and items. It’s quite similar to FC3 but offers better graphics and other improvements. I’d recommend getting it if you love that style, just keep in mind some DLC parts act like separate games (like the Valley of the Yeti).

Thank you for the input. I could consider purchasing it if the price drops below 15€, otherwise I won't.

Hydra, FC4 is really FC3.5 with less emphasis on drugs and madness. The graphics are better and it's simpler than FC3. I had a good playthrough and won the game, though everyone has their own style. Hope this helps, Chickenpuffball
