Hi! It seems like the issue might be related to a temporary hardware glitch rather than a CPU failure. The persistent EZ debug LED could indicate a power or reset problem. Since removing the CMOS battery didn’t fix it, it’s possible another component is involved. Checking the motherboard for any visible damage or loose connections might help. If the problem continues, consider testing with a different power supply or consulting MSI support for further guidance.

What kind of motherboard is this? If it still powers on, I don’t have major concerns unless you spot other problems. At this stage, it seems like the POST LED area might be faulty. If you’re covered by warranty, I’d likely reach out to MSI—given your mention of EZ Debug, they’re probably their standard model—but they’re often more troublesome than helpful.

Yes, it's a B550m mortar motherboard from MSI. So as long as my system still POSTs there's no reason to worry about it? I just got worried because this doesn't usually happen to my system. But anyway, thanks!

I don’t focus on this problem alone. I might not be surprised by other system issues, but if the CPU light stays on for a while, I won’t be too concerned. I’d only be worried about unusual behavior that impacts performance.

I’m doing fine so far with no additional problems. I managed to play for 12 hours straight without shutting down, even when the issue was present. My CPU temperatures are stable—around 35°C when idle and typically 50°C to 60°C during load. Thanks a lot!
