It seems you're uncertain about where to start, but it’s possible some of you have already experienced the GOD OF WAR game on PlayStation 4 when it launched in 2018, or other exclusive titles from this series? (Assuming you had a console before, since my main gaming experience has always been PC, I haven’t owned any console yet.)
I’ve heard this is one of the top action games available, receiving a lot of praise and positive reviews for the GOD OF WAR series.
But regardless, Sony’s God of War is now set to be released on PC. It will go live on January 14th, 2022, and you can place your preorder immediately on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $49.99. Sony revealed the end of God of War’s PlayStation exclusivity on a PC announcement trailer posted on YouTube.
The news came via a blog post followed by a YouTube teaser. According to Sony, God of War on PC will go beyond a standard PC version. The update includes 21:9 resolution support, compatibility with multiple controllers, and full 4K rendering for powerful machines.
Sony also mentioned offering "a broad selection of graphical presets and settings," allowing players to adjust the visuals according to their system. Enhancements such as better shadow detail, screen space reflections, and improvements in ambient occlusion will be available thanks to GTAO and SSDO.
Additionally, Sony Santa Monica is collaborating with NVIDIA to incorporate DLSS and Reflex technologies into the game. Those who choose PC version will enjoy 4K playback, unlocked frame rates, and a 21:9 ultra widescreen display (provided the hardware supports it). The game will also utilize Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and Reflex for reduced latency, delivering a more interactive experience.
Sony assures that the title will feature strong controller support and customizable keyboard shortcuts, and you can use either the DualShock 4 or DualSense controllers if desired.
I’ll be watching this release closely. Is it truly worth playing? The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive for this game.

Additionally, God of War’s shift away from PlayStation-only availability aligns with a broader pattern observed recently. Increasingly, developers are moving beyond exclusive platform releases, since the PC now supports virtually all content. In 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn received a PC version as well, marking the latest major title to transition to the new system. Several other games previously available only on PlayStation also found a home on the PC.

I'm still waiting for the original The Last of Us to come to PC, seems unlikely given the pre x86 PS gen it was made for.

I enjoyed the originals the most, but I'm happy they chose to keep the franchise going.

BTW, have you tried any of the KILLZONE games that came out for the PlayStation? There are really great first-person shooters, like Killzone 2, and I hope they also make it for PC. But I’m not sure this will happen.

They were captivating contests, yet I think they’d need to remove the multiplayer features since it’s unclear how many players would engage in multiplayer Killzone now.

I believe they also offer a single-player campaign narrative in addition to the MP mode.

They all do, and the tale appeared quite captivating. I think they should expand it further, though I’m not sure if Guerilla Games will be interested in keeping it going 🤔

Just a small portion of Shadowfall, which appeared among the initial releases for PS4. I was at my friend's house soon after he purchased a PS4. It's not a terrible title, though I haven't actually owned a console myself.

The initial walkthrough of early PC gameplay has been released online by Sigma Hawk Gaming, the channel that captured this two-hour video. It seems the player is using a mouse and keyboard as well. Unfortunately, the YouTuber hasn't disclosed the PC specifications or provided any frame rates. However, it appears the game includes a manual save function and functions well as a stable PC port. The release date is set for January 14th, 2022, just three days away, which raises questions about how the user accessed this early version. This footage should be authentic, but I may revise the post if additional details emerge. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT1JFrTA...HawkGaming
