I noticed that one, and I think the difference in performance between 6000, 6200 and 6400 for 1440p gaming is minimal. Let's check what the 9800X3D can achieve with DDR5 memory.
Further investigation shows this appears to be one of the lowest latency options for Ryzen 7000/9000 models. The GSkill can achieve speeds around 6200 at various clocks. Comparing DDR5 6400 @ CL30-39-39-71 with DDR5 6200 @ 28-36-36-96 reveals notable differences. The 7600 kit seems capable of handling 6200 at 28 timing, though specifics would depend on exact timings and configurations.
Around the issue, though achieving 6400 CL32 would definitely speed things up, as seen in TechPowerUp's tests. It’s not a huge change, but the main goal of X3D chips is to hide memory delays, so any further gains would be minor. I doubt it won’t work—just boosting the memory voltage might help. Basic builds can run 6200 CL26 with about 1.5V.
I noticed some numbers (not sure if it's okay to share links here) showing a big difference between 6200 CL34 and CL28—about 40 FPS in low loads (in one game) and around 10 FPS for other titles, all on the same CPU (7800x3d). That seems impressive if true. But I think 6200 at CL28 is likely more achievable than 6400 at CL30 unless someone has solid clock data. Maybe CL28 could even be a bit faster?
It shouldn't violate any guidelines. I'm curious about the timing options since differences like 6200 CL34-44-44-108 versus 6200 CL28-36-36-76 are much larger than, say, 6400 CL30-37-37-71 versus 6200 CL28-36-36-76. Even then, it seems more significant with a 7800X3D. I might even question if the results follow a 2:1 ratio compared to a 1:1 ratio in the tests.

What caught my attention first was the comparison between CL34-44-44 and CL28-36-36—this gap seems significant on its own, so I wouldn't expect it to be as impactful when compared to a 6400 CL30-37-37 setup like you'd likely be using. The results you get will tend to align more closely with the CL28 values rather than the CL34 ones.
The 9800x3d is now available, which gives me confidence about the outcomes, though few DDR5 mem modules have been tried yet. In summary, 6000 or 6200 at CL30 seem promising, and pushing them to C28 would be even better. Now it's time to pick the motherboard...
