DDR5 288 pins incompatible with motherboards that don't support DDR5 RAM with this pin configuration
Hi everyone, I've got quite the issue here. So my Motherboard is ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2 AMD A620M So.AM5 Dual Channel DDR5 mATX My RAM is 32GB Kingston FURY Renegade Pro DDR5-4800 DIMM CL36 Single. Motherboard manual says it supports 288-pin DDR5 RAM and my RAM's description on the website I purchased from says it is 288-pin DDR5. Yet it doesn't fit. I know RAM only goes in one way in its slot, and I didn't put any unneccessary pressure on it to "just give it a try" and potentially damage either part, but I'm losing my mind over how they're not compaible, that I tried flipping it the other way to make sure I'm just not too dumb or a blind person that missed the correct orientation. So please, can anyone tell me if I'm missing something obvious here? On another site someone told me the following " Your ram is incompatible with your motherboard. This because you have Registered/Buffered Memory (RDIMM) and your motherboard only supports normal un-buffered memory (UDIMM/DIMM)." Thing is, even if they're correct, I'm browsing other RAM sticks with "UDIMM" and based on the preview pictures, they all seem to have their notch in the identical spot as my current RAM does, so I'm not sure if that un-buffered model/version is any different when it comes to the physicality of the RAM sticks.
Thank you for your kind words. I understand how frustrating it can be to search online without finding answers. Much love.
