Many people are discussing this setup online. The i9 13900k supports dual-channel up to 128GB at 5600MHz, while the Z970 motherboard can handle 4x32GB RAM at the same speed. Running four sticks might work but could be complex; using two sticks for 64GB is simpler and more reliable.
Are you looking for a particular application that requires 128GB? Otherwise, 64GB seems adequate for most games. The extra RAM isn’t necessary unless a specific program demands it. While 4 drives offer a slight boost, 2 drives generally provide better performance, and the gain would be minimal.

I use 128GB of DDR4 4000 on my i9 13900ks and 128GB of DDR4 3600 on my i9 13900k, and everything runs smoothly. I’m not testing DDR5 yet. Thinking about the release dates, I assumed sticking with proven tech since early tests didn’t reveal much change, but I haven’t checked recent benchmarks where timing and clock speeds might now boost performance.
