Hello and welcome to the holidays! I'm planning to enhance my mother's laptop by adding more memory, as her current setup is just one 4GB DDR3 1600MHz stick. That’s not sufficient for today’s computers, even if it’s considered a “mom PC.” Here are the specs:

- CPU: Acer Aspire E1-472 (Intel i5 4200U)
- GPU: Integrated
- RAM: 1x DDR3 4GB at 1600MHz
- Motherboard: EA40_HW
- Voltage: 1.35V
- Timings: C11 (estimated)
- Data rate: 12800S

I’ve found a similar module online for a reasonable price. It matches the voltage, timings, frequency, and speed requirements. The only differences are the chipset and possibly the supplier. Could there be compatibility issues between this new module and her current board? Also, does the motherboard support 8GB RAM? I’m sure you have more details—I’d appreciate them!

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Can’t locate her an entirely new set? They might function, but there’s a chance they could face issues, making it a bit uncertain. I’d look for a complete package, even if it’s secondhand.
