New system with R5 7600 Arc a750, MSI pro mobo, 32bg 5600ddr5 Kingston fury ram. Windows 10 Pro is unactivated. I can play Steam games and Xbox Gamepass content without problems. EA games work fine when owned, but launching EA titles via Gamepass causes a black screen and crashes to the desktop with a DCOM error. I’ve tried several registry fixes online but haven’t succeeded. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? Could it be related to the unactivated Windows version?

It's unusual since it's not the first item on the list. Probably my intuition is influencing this. The issue seems to be with the Microsoft app, but in truth Microsoft should resolve it. People shouldn't have to edit the registry just to keep the system running smoothly. To confirm, have you removed those four keys? The suggested method for fixing the DistributedCOM error 10016 involves adjusting a few registry entries.
