Data transfer encountered issues – management table deleted on Windows boot drive.
I think I made a huge mistake. I was attempting to transfer data from my desktop's boot drive to a laptop for backup, but the setup didn't work. The drive I was using is an M.2 SSD that needs to fit into a m.2 to USB C adapter. Since my desktop also uses an M.2 drive, I planned to insert the desktop drive into the adapter, move files to the laptop, and then place it on the extra drive because my desktop lacks USB C ports. When I connected the desktop drive to the laptop, it appeared in Windows but wasn't recognized. I tried initializing it without formatting, assuming the system would just identify it. I didn't change its format and noticed some partitions and boot sectors might be corrupted, so I stopped. Later, I tried using Linux and Testdisk to create an image of the drive, which shows all data intact with the right partitions. I'm still unsure how to write that image or rebuild the drive properly. Do you know anyone who might have similar experiences?
