I tried a few tweaks in Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition on PC, but the graphics still lag and frame rates drop. I’m looking for top-tier graphic enhancement mods to boost performance to 60fps at 1920x1080 with sharper textures.

Consider this an addition to the discussion. Think about optimizing the graphics configuration for DS FIX so it runs smoothly while maintaining a superior appearance compared to the original.

Nexus mods offers a variety of Dark Souls-related content. http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/446/? That was the version I installed previously. It caused minor lag during the New Londo launch, which seems to be an engine issue.

I don't know if you've already installed DSFix. To adjust your framerate to 60 and render resolution to 1080p, you should do it within DSFix, especially in DSFix.ini. Settings for antialiasing and ambient occlusion are there too. For texture mods, you need DSFix installed and then set "enableTextureOverride 1" in DSFix.ini.
