You should focus on stats like Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution for a warrior build. There isn’t a strict ratio, but balancing these will help you excel in combat.

Review the numbers and see what fits your style. There’s no one-size-fits-all, but it’s wise to aim for agility at 90 or above, and boost dexterity and strength to 20. After that, it’s just about what feels right for you.

I haven't explored scaling extensively, but I'm confident your class sets the foundation with a few stats that fit your playstyle. Focus on boosting what matters most for your approach and the gear you're using. Adjust accordingly based on your preferences.

Your character design isn't fixed—feel free to shape it however you like. If you're aiming for a straightforward melee build, prioritize Strength or Dexterity based on the weapons you choose. Some strategies combine both stats. Boost Endurance to enhance stamina and support heavier gear. Vitality remains useful for sustaining health. Keep in mind the soft caps—excess points here offer minimal gain, so focus elsewhere. For detailed guidance, explore the wiki link provided.

What stats you should upgrade depends on what you want to do. Weapons have a base damage and a scale rating(E-S). The scale rating decides how much damage you'll get from the relevant stats. Weapons with very high base damage usually have poor scaling, and vice versa. What kind of weapons scales with what is pretty logical, katanas and bows scales with dexterity, hammers and big weapons scales with strength. In your first playthrough it's okay to just balance it, level up strength and dextery depending on the weapons you like, then some in the vitality(HP) and endurance(stamina). Be wary of soft caps though, after about 40 points most stats doesn't give as much as they used to, resulting in inefficient points. You'll have to check a wiki to know what stats has which cap. Use your imagination and try things out, there's no definitive items or builds, pretty much everything works as long as it's upgraded. I highly recommend using http://darksouls.wikidot.com/ , the game is really vague and it really sucks at giving you information, which is it's only major flaw.
