For those who enjoy Dark Souls, I tried Dark Souls 1 (prepare to die edition) and finished the forest section after ringing the two bells. I paused for a reason and now wonder if restarting is worth it or if I can keep going. Also, do I have to finish Dark Souls 1 before playing Dark Souls 2? Please help me, D.

I don't see any reason to restart, and you definitely don't need to play dark souls 1 to play dark souls 2. BUT DO NOT GET DARK SOULS 2. They are remastering dark souls 2 essentially. They are making completely remaking the graphics engine for next gen consoles and pc, we who have dark souls 2 on pc will unfortunately not being getting anything but a massive "content update" instead of a graphical update as well. So just wait a couple months to get it, make sure you beat dark souls 1 and master it.

You remember what to do next? I usually restart and farm souls using the method I learned in my first run. It gives around 100,000 souls every half hour or so, and you level up fast. Just keep the Black Knight Sword early on.

You don't have to finish DS1 to enjoy DS2, but I strongly suggest it. Excellent titles...

They made an adjustment in Dark Souls 2 that didn't meet my preferences.

The first game clearly stood out as my top choice. Still, both titles remain solid options.
