Dark Souls 3 on low-end systems, troubleshooting keyboard and mouse issues during launch.
I bought Dark Souls 3 recently and it works well, though it doesn’t support 21:9, so I added a mod. During the opening level, the tutorial prompts appear on the gamepad instead of the keyboard and mouse. Many people suggest playing with a gamepad for Dark Souls, but since I’m not a console gamer and prefer PC, I feel more at ease with A K&M. Still, I believe FromSoftware should consider the needs of PC players like us. Kind regards, BucketBoiAce
It's all about the challenge. /s Watch your progress with keyboard and mouse, but I still suggest using a controller for Dark Souls. As a PC gamer who hasn't played consoles since the PS2 and never owned an Xbox, I've used an Xbox controller for Dark Souls.
I've also developed a preference for PC, though I must mention that after spending countless hours in Dark Souls, the controller clearly offers superior control. Regarding button inputs, you'll need to navigate to the pause menu and familiarize yourself with each button's function. Practice these in the starting area since floor messages won't be very useful. As for the port's quality, it's decent overall, except for the keyboard/mouse setup, but I believe the control system is quite effective. Edited July 1, 2020 by Fasauceome
Thank you for your feedback. I should note that my Corsair keyboard doesn<|pad|>, and the buttons on the left side of my Logitech mouse are a bit disappointing. Still, I understand why some people prefer K&M and others like me. For the 21:9 resolution, I believe it should be supported since modern gaming needs compatibility across different displays. I think the intention behind 21:9 support is that FromSoftware Inc focuses heavily on console titles. Edited July 1, 2020 by BucketBoiAce
This setup limits your movement options to straightforward directions and doesn't allow for smooth forward/backward or diagonal travel. Without the toggle, you can't slow down naturally. Certain abilities become unavailable once activated, like free aiming during a weapon swing. Overwatch doesn't support 21:9 resolution; it adjusts the display to fit the screen, often removing top and bottom areas. TF2 stretches its screen further, which isn't due to technical limitations but rather design decisions. While they support up to 4K natively and offer strong graphics settings, adding 21:9 isn't a default expectation for online play.
Because they said, "It was cheating" what a great excuse Blizzard Entertainment and Iron galaxy.
Another option is a game that combines PVP with ultra-wide multiplayer, such as a title that supports both competitive and large-scale group play.
