While playing games, the PC would shut down to the BIOS and then restart, working normally afterward. During tests, it performed well unless games were loaded. This raises concerns about the HDMI port being damaged. After crashes, I reported the issue and they confirmed the port was faulty. They admit it might have been an accident, but they won’t accept responsibility. I’m wondering if the damage could still allow the PC to run without crashing, yet games might fail. Could the HDMI port still function despite this type of harm?
the hdmi connection on my rtx 3070 is completely damaged, which is much worse than yours. it seems the port isn't working at all, but the card itself is still operating fine.
It’s clearly affected, but if it maintains strong connectivity, you should face no problems. I strongly suggest replacing it or switching to a different HDMI port if feasible to address the problem. I’m truly sorry they can’t repair it, but reach out to customer service on the GPU and mention the unresolved issue from the repair visit. They should be able to help resolve it soon.
Ensure contacts remain separate for proper function. If your monitor only supports HDMI, consider using a DP to HDMI adapter.
