It looks like water damage to me, I don't really see anything burnt. The black looks like mold to me.

It seems water likely damaged the PCB, possibly with a short circuit somewhere. If lightning struck, it probably destroyed the entire board. A strong surge from the lightning would have blown away the capacitors and resistors. I don’t see any obvious proof of this.

It seems there was water damage. The white residue on the PCB could be minerals from evaporating water, while the orange spots on the case resemble rust, a condition worsened by moisture.
