Hey, I don't know if D3DOverRider works with Far Cry 4, but you might try checking the game's settings or contacting the developer for compatibility.

D3DOVERRIDER isn't available now, but FC4 offers solid in-game choices instead.

No, the in-game VSync isn't functioning properly for you.

I believe the in-game VSync might be causing my stuttering issues. When I disable it, the problem disappears completely. I’m looking to explore a different approach altogether.

It looks like you're noticing some issues when turning off the game. The game has experienced stuttering for many users, but you're managing to run it smoothly.

Can't locate that setting, but I have a tutorial. Locking the game at 55fps might help prevent those sudden FPS drops.

Rivatuner belongs to MSI afterburner. When installed, it launches in a minimized state within your icon tray upon launching Afterburner. I utilize it to cap FPS in FIFA, functioning similarly to its role with VSync.

I explain the approach. Stuttering is the only solution to fix it and maintain a consistent 60 FPS. This method works via http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/795268-fa...4/70649182. It reduces quality, not your hardware. The issue stems from a poor port handling one CPU core, making the game lag. You can either cap it at 30 FPS for better control or turn off mipmapping to achieve smoother performance. The problem is most noticeable on a GTX 980 with a Haswell chip running at 4.8 GHz, especially in vehicles.
