Hello, I'm checking if it's feasible to adjust Battlefield 4's resolution to 1280x960 on a 1600x900 screen. I attempted to set it manually through the nVidia Control Panel, but the game freezes and requires pressing ESC to revert. The same issue appears when modifying the in-game settings via a config file. Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks! <3

It seems the numbers suggest a scaling issue. If the max is 900, the 960 part might not fit. With 1600, 1280 becomes manageable. This likely corresponds to around 560p.

Perhaps after attempting to set 1280x960 via the Nvidia control panel, it reverts to the original native resolution and removes the custom res from the available list.

You're asking why you're attempting this method, but it appears to be poorly presented. Let's clarify your approach and ensure it meets the desired outcome.

You need to adjust the settings so the display output matches the monitor's capabilities.
