Temperatures fluctuate between highs near 40 degrees and then settle around 18-22 degrees during idle mode, while the system runs only for watching videos. There’s a red LED on the motherboard that stays lit after booting up, which might indicate an issue. The processor appears to be the I7 12th generation, and the Gigabyte Elite as the motherboard. It seems there could be a problem with the device rather than just overheating.
Switch your CPU out again. This resolved the issue I faced recently, though it won’t fix the high temperatures during idle. The problem likely stems from background processes like Steam, Teams, Discord, Spotify, and RGB monitors such as iCue. Unless you turn off some of these for startup (the ones you don’t need), changing much isn’t possible.
