I received the components and updated the BIOS, but the PC still doesn’t boot. After installing, I flashed the BIOS from F2 to F60, yet it wouldn’t start. There was power, fans spun, and RAM RGB lit, but the motherboard didn’t show any lights. No idea what’s wrong. Thanks for your help.
I’d consider reverting the BIOS settings first. My second concern is whether that motherboard features a large or tiny BIOS cache chip—this could be important. Some B450 models faced issues because they had small chips, leading to complications. That’s why MAX boards became more favored. They typically came with bigger caches, or at least were designed that way.
You've managed to get your Ryzen 5 1600X running, which is great! It doesn't necessarily mean the CPU is permanently damaged or unusable beyond a display role. The BIOS issues might be fixable, so checking with a repair shop or manufacturer support could help.
I thought the board had a flashback feature but now I don’t see it, so I’m unsure why I mentioned rolling back. If you have a 1600x available for adjustments, you can switch to any BIOS you prefer. The 3600 might be gone, but it wouldn’t be that simple with certain BIOS options. I guess it’s possible, but bad BIOS choices seem unlikely to me. The fact that the 3600 function existed suggests it should still work.
