Hi! A few days back I executed "powercfg /h off" to turn off hibernation in hopes of resolving another issue. Since then, my PC fails to load saved data on startup. Steam launches with a login prompt (despite Remember me), and Spotify doesn’t recall the most recently played track. I attempted resetting all power configurations, but the problem persists. Any suggestions? Cheers, Ron
Hello! The CMOS battery isn't dead, and I've already checked it. It seems there might be a connection between this and your problem, though. The data is stored on the HDD (like Steam's), and it didn't hibernate before—just full shutdowns occurred before you did that command.
Previously, Chrome failed to save passwords despite requests, and overclock adjustments reset each time I restarted. This points to a dead CMOS battery, which I replaced, resolving both issues. Are there still ways to access drives holding Steam and Spotify files? Does the CrystaldiskInfo utility display any alerts? If you have another drive, consider copying the Spotify app file there (don’t delete the original) and using it from that location.
Both drives function properly and no issues appear in CrystalDiskInfo. However, the problem persists. Please note that Steam doesn’t retain the password even after restarting the app (not a full PC reboot), and the same happens with Spotify. A friend who ran the command at the same time as me also encountered the same issue, suggesting it might be related to software.
