Hey! After setting up Windows 8.1 and using Chrome with Ninite, I notice my name appears in Chrome as shown in the picture. Clicking it reveals details about my Google+ account and lets me change users or switch to incognito mode. Is this always happening or is it unusual? It’s a bit confusing.

It's surprising, but Google does update Chrome periodically. On my 64-bit system, I've experienced this since October, and it seems you can disable it through the settings. Checking chrome://flags/ and enabling the new avatar menu should help. Restarting Chrome might also resolve the issue.

It hasn't updated to that version yet. Perhaps your automatic updates are disabled.

I saw it happening on three of my PCs too, and I wondered if it was already there. Now I’m sure it’s Chrome since I’m using Windows 7.
