Purchased a used MacBook Pro 2012 at a reasonable price, no operating system installed. It entered recovery mode but failed to reinstall when checking mac info. I attempted several ways to access internet recovery: reset the NVRAM multiple times, created a bootable USB from Windows (no other Macs available), and used the utility to make a bootable device. The Mac recognized USB devices but read the external HDD instead of the internal one, which is why it couldn’t reinstall OS. I tried connecting via Wi-Fi and Ethernet to reinstall. Next steps: check hardware health, test other ports, and consider deeper diagnostics if issues persist.
