I recently installed my new computer with an XFX 6600, an Intel 10400F, and an MSI B560i Mini ITX motherboard. Initially, the system booted normally in BIOS without Windows yet. Since I hadn’t installed Windows, I adjusted the settings to require a specific USB drive for startup. After that, accessing BIOS became difficult, but the machine powered on with a faint indicator—like a hyphen in the top-left corner. Using a screwdriver, I reset the BIOS by shorting jumper pins (JBT 1), which resolved the issue. When I turned it on, the monitor displayed an HDMI signal but appeared black with a faint light. I attempted to remove and reinsert the CMOS battery, but it didn’t fix the problem. Should I consider replacing the motherboard?
Review the guide thoroughly and execute the CMOS reset procedure exactly as described. Follow all steps without omission.
The guide doesn’t outline exact procedures, but I disconnected all cords from the PC and removed the battery for ten minutes. I’ve repeated this process twice. Appreciate your quick assistance!
