Hello, I was planning to upgrade my graphics card but wanted to confirm if my PSU could handle it. Here are my current specifications on PcPartPicker:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j424h3
Quick summary: Ryzen 5 5600x, 16GB 3600MHz RAM, 1TB NVMe M.2 drive, GTX 1050 (non-Ti 2GB version, just an older card for temporary use 😅) and my Power Supply is the be quiet! System Power 9 CM 700W
(link to its page: https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/1692).
I was considering switching to an RX 7700 XT but am unsure because I've heard mixed reviews about the System Power range and a friend warned me it might not be sufficient despite my model being rated for 700 watts. I haven't experienced any problems so far, which is normal given my current GPU, but I'm seeking another perspective since this site has always been reliable. If more details are needed, I'm happy to share them. Thanks.

because of the psu's age, I decided to replace it. it was mid-range in 2016 when it launched, so I wouldn't push it too far ahead. technically it could run the 7700xt, but due to its age and low-quality capacitors, I wouldn't risk it. if it fails, the system might just stop working again. using lower-quality parts and lacking modern safeguards for this old unit greatly increases the chance of losing the pc or causing even worse problems.

I understand your situation. I purchased my unit in the summer of 2022, along with the other components (except the GPU), but it seems irrelevant whether it's a "revision." If I need to replace it, I’d consider either the CoolerMaster MWE 750 Bronze 230V v2 for a more affordable choice or the Seasonic Focus GX ATX 3.0 750w based on the PSU tierlist. Do you think these are solid alternatives? Also, appreciate your prompt response 😅.

are you purchasing in the US? if not, where exactly are you interested in? i’d have to review the latest prices to determine a suitable deal. i haven’t had a chance to shop in a while and prices change often.

I reside in Greece and purchase from nearby shops. The Coolermaster PSU costs 80€ and the Seasonic one is 122€, making them both quite affordable. My estimated budget is between 80 and 150€.

Yeah, that’s the site I used to look up for the others, but I’m leaning more toward the Be Quiet! option. On the other hand, according to the tierlist for this unit, I should keep these points in mind:
[13]
Keep in mind that strictly multi-rail units (without a chance to switch to single-rail mode) can trip when GPUs (>400W) or CPUs (unlocked Intel i7/i9) draw a lot of power because their OCP tripping point is lower. Check the manual and manage the load if necessary.
[14]
Potential ATX 3.0 units either haven’t been tested for compatibility (no Aris review), weren’t certified (no entry in Intel’s database), have failed the Aris review, or simply lack proper reviews to be placed in the standard priority category. Is this a concern (or something to watch out for in the future)? Also, should I ignore the seasonal unit I mentioned earlier? Thank you very much for your assistance—I really appreciate it!

i like the be quiet model but prefer the thermaltake one more. the seasonic is also a solid option, really. you won't have any issues with any of these overall. avoiding the faulty units is key, which is the main reason people stress when choosing a psu. aris didn't test the be quiet model clearly, but it performed well and looks good based on other reliable reviews.
