Curious about the situation?
I recently received a free RTX 2060 and connected it to my PC. The fans spun everywhere, the keyboard and mouse lit up, but the monitor didn’t receive a signal. It wasn’t an issue with the cable or display. I turned it off and used a different port further down the connection, which resolved the problem. Someone knows why one port works while another doesn’t, even on the same cable. I have a 550W PSU and an i5-4590 processor, so power supply shouldn’t be the issue.
The sentence is confusing and doesn’t convey a clear meaning.
I powered off the PC because it wouldn’t boot. Then I removed the 6-pin connector and installed a different one further along the link. The cable features two sets of connectors at various positions, and I just swapped out the connectors as needed.
Your cable might be broken anywhere between the two connectors, or the connector itself could be defective. A pin could be bent or missing. The safest approach is to cover the problematic connector with paint or tape so you avoid using it.
Could the damage have occurred, but you managed to avoid any harm?
