CSM not functioning - black UEFI and startup issues
Hello, I'm facing an issue with my ASRock B450 motherboard for the K4 gaming laptop. When I turn off CSM, I see a black screen in BIOS and during POST. I thought disabling FULL HD BIOS would help, but now I notice my BIOS still shows in high resolution. This problem occurs on another motherboard as well. Have you seen any solutions for this?
Do you possess the most recent BIOS update? Which graphics card are you using?
PS: Review the warnings in the BIOS list! Based on your CPU, you might not need to update and can tolerate the behavior.
Have you checked if the BIOS is up to date? It seems odd that this issue arises, but it could be due to the goal of fast-boot UEFI mode allowing the OS to start the GPU, not the BIOS itself. I’d definitely mention it to ASRock if it keeps happening after a BIOS update. On certain Dell systems, upgrading to a newer BIOS causes a black screen on the dGPU, and the only solution was adjusting the BIOS settings to initialize the dGPU directly instead of the iGPU/auto. It’s not entirely unique.
I have the most recent specifications for the second generation Ryzen and my GPU is an RX 570.
Then it's just your monitor being a pain and having poor support for low resolutions. Probably not much you can do.
