I frequently hear complaints about silver being difficult and ranking hard, especially with recent changes. Yet I reached Silver Elite after ten wins, earned Silver Elite Master within three games, dominated every match with top freights, won around six games, then tied one before climbing to Gold Nova 1. Had a few bad teammates but mostly none. Am I just lucky, or is there more to it? I play on Mirage/Dust II.

It's simple as can be. Those who say it's bad are just really bad at the game. This is common in every competitive game worldwide. League of Legends players grumble about bronze, streamers use bronze accounts and turn them into diamonds in a week or so, yet they keep complaining.

I usually don’t encounter too many negative situations in GN3. However, lately I’ve noticed many players talking about being ignored and saying they don’t mind losing. That’s a bit bothersome, though I still tend to win most of the time.

You're in the right place for a reason.

The periods when I achieved 100 wins and remained silver were marked by a solid 30-game winning streak with gold finishes. After that, each rank brought 3-5 wins until reaching mg2—silver two-MG2 took under a month. Am I the only one hoping the AWP gets un-nerfed again?

Not lucky, skillful. The there is no real trap, it is just your skill. It takes any skill at all to get out of silver, so people who lack it(I used to admittedly) will be stuck in silver even if they are top fragging games. What people have been complaining about recently is a rebalance of the ranks valve did that basically threw all high ranks back a couple the moment they lost. They wanted less high ranks and more middle ranks.

Well, those who grumble are either terrible or come from a better position, simply disliking the generally poor tactics, aim, teamwork, and strategies in lower levels. Personally, I find it awful and dull to play in the MG ranks because of the unpredictable moves and random rushes there and then, mostly relying on luck to get into a match. There’s no real strategy or planning behind their choices, which makes teamplay terrible.
