Everyone can notice a CS:GO player using things like 4:3 ratio, low sensitivity, odd crosshair placement. It depends on personal taste.

They do it since they're accustomed to the CSS and CS 1.6 days on CRT screens with 4:3 ratios. It's just a personal taste.

Being a ex pro source player and a very high level now i will tell you. 1 comfort some like it like that it is actually comfortable 2 at lan's you don't always have the most space to setup and play in so moving the keyboard to a diagonal position saved space and gave more room for your mouse 3 as said above different key configs.

It's either a choice or a way they were taught to play. Many grew up in compact net cafes and LAN setups where space was tight, forcing them to use sideways keyboards or risk running out of room after adding a large CRT screen. I once played with a sideways keyboard until I got a bigger desk and switched to a tenkeyless machine, now I use an opposite tilt—my mouse pad sits right against the keyboard.
