Initially my setup: CPU Intel Pentium G4400, motherboard Gigabyte H110M DS2, RAM DDR3 1x8GB at 1600MHz, GPU AMD Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5, HDD Seagate 320GB 7200RPM, power supply Seasonic Focus+ Gold 550W. Two years ago CS:GO had minor frame drops, now I can't play FFA DM. I followed the guide from the link you shared, but nothing worked. I know CS:GO isn’t great on dual cores, but I’m okay with around 75 fps for stability. In Fortnite I get about 80 fps, but using pump sometimes causes crashes. I’m playing at 1080p with low preset and 89.9% 3D resolution. I managed to play the aim botz map at 180 fps today, which is better than the 120 fps I usually see. I understand that three major Windows 10 updates since purchase have reduced performance overall—not just gaming; Chrome takes longer to launch, etc. I’m trying to decide between upgrading to an I3 8100 with B360 and 2x4GB DDR4, keeping this CPU but replacing the RAM, or sticking with the I5 7400 with SSD and using this RAM with the current GPU. I also considered a GTX 1060 3GB or an i7 7700, but I think the Radeon R7 250 is probably not ideal with this CPU. The CS:GO preset is set low, 2x MSAA doesn’t matter much, and multicore rendering at 1024x768 works fine. I’m unsure what’s best for stable fps in CS:GO—maybe upgrading the GPU would help. Alternatively, I could get a more powerful machine online via YouTube.

Consider replacing your CPU and GPU with an R3 2200G featuring high-speed memory. Alternatively, you might want to purchase a G4560 and upgrade it as needed.

The entire setup performs poorly, particularly during fast-paced gaming sessions like CSGO, which depends a lot on the CPU.

I found some command-line options that can boost your gaming performance. With an i5 8400, you're seeing 400-600 FPS, and these tweaks might help. Let me look up more details for you.
